V1 is excited to host an in-person founder chat with Carlo Köbe, cofounder of Fizz (YC S21), in EQ 1405 from 5:30-6:30 PM on March 14th!
Meet Carlo — he’s the cofounder and CEO of Fizz, a startup with the mission of being the financial ally for young adults. His journey in the student card space began as a freshman at Harvard, where he felt the frustration of not getting approved for a credit card as an international student. He quickly realized financial literacy was a major problem for young adults, and set out to create Fizz to help students build credit in a safe way.
Fizz raised a ~$4M seed round from YC, Kleiner Perkins, SV Angel, Alexandr Wang, and more to build the safest debit card designed for college students. They have 30K college students nationwide on their waiting list, and just launched at UMich this month.

Last Friday, V1 Pitch Night featured 13 awesome ideas from our members pitched to top builders in the V1 Community. We had projects spanning a variety of emerging sectors, including in the fintech, adtech, AR, and healthcare spaces.
Special shoutout to the top builders from Preet, CollegeDAO, MVC, Canopay, Compass, and Entrepreneur Power Hour, who came out to talk to our members and gave valuable feedback.
